Oh that fabulous episode of Sex in the City, where the brilliant and sexy Carrie gets dumped on a post-it. Well thank god that hasn’t happen to me, yet. The last couple of weeks have brought nothing new. Nothing worth a newspaper headline. I guess the summer heat has brought a drought. Luckily I have plenty of TV shows to re-watch and catch up too. The Bachelorette is the show of the moment. I have to admit the only reason I’m watching is because I went to high school with James. Yes ladies he has always been adorable. So watching is not also funny but kinda awkward. Any who may love win, and I hope Jojo finds her unicorn, and so do I
Any-who, found a new food/drink obsession, Bahama Bucks. I’ve been cheating on my diet with them calling it ice cream. It is so good, and probably really bad for you, but this horrible Houston heat demands something refreshing. Especially this alcohol sabbatical I’ve taken. Well I had a cheat day, after three weeks for one of my close friends bridal shower. What a great morning it was hanging out with some amazing ladies. Then I finally got to hit up Axelrad. Not really what I expected. Fun with a group not really a place to pickup guys. So slightly disappointing for my singleness. At least I got to hang out with old friends and even the bestie joined me. Needless to say though I was in bed by 1 am.
Well my parent arrived back from Colombia with a plethora of gifts, including one that I could do without. The unfortunate future of being an orphan coming soon. Yes this is true. They are selling their house and moving in the coming months. Leaving me. So if anyone will like to adopt me, please send inquires to my email. Talking about my inbox, it has brought on a fantastic opportunity. A Miami based company called Sol Theory reached out to me to a brand ambassador. How cool I must say! So go check them out!!
As always a shout out to my friends and their endless support!! Happy Forth everyone!!
So my apologies for the super late post. I have been either working or napping, true story. I must admit the last two weeks have been full of adventure and surprises good and bad, but here is the rundown.
Captains Log ….
June 3rd
Slept all day, but met up a friend at Happy Hour at Emerson Rose. Really cute store off 19th Street in the Heights. Right next to my beloved Torchys. I had missed this amazing find all of these years. Found some really cute stuff for the weekend. Plus they had my favorite drink – Deep Eddy’s Ruby Red on tap. Then I went for the henna, I had never gotten done, have to say I loved it. Afterwards we just hung out at her place, where I came to figured out – why must tv’s be so complicated to watch. What happened to just turn on and watch. Oh and we ordered drunken pizza thru Uber Eats. Funny, it took forever to get there. Like she had to call the driver to find out what was going on and my he was driving away from her place. Met up with one of my Bumble boys, not much to say other than it was a good play time. Went home at a decent time to get ready for the weekend . Oh and what a weekend it would be.
June 4th
Woke up mighty early with one thing in mind, Brunch Brunch Brunch. I arrived at my friends early to help out while the light rain came in. A quick trip to the grocery store, some dishwasher work and a little egg work later, it was quite a hit. Can’t say that I had not had such a good times in a weird situation. My close friends only know the truth, I can’t throw a person completely ‘under the bus’. Lots of bubbly and vodka it was time to move the party down the street. The party continued on the Washington Wave then to NRG yellow lot for Free Press Summer Fest. Can’t say that I was happy with the move to the parking lot from Eleanor Tinsley Park, but I understood it was due to the high bayou and the ground being over saturated to the point stages could become unstable. Houston had so much rain. On the ‘must watch list’ X-Ambassadors, Matt and Kim and Modest Mouse. While waiting I decided food was a must, after my $7 pizza slice, I lost my debit card. Which it was fine for the day, little did I know that I would spend a whole week without access to my bank account. I had more than my fair share of alcohol and food earlier in the day. Watched X-Ambassadors from the fancy pants tent, where it was the shelter for the little rain there was that day. Rain boots where a brilliant idea. A small cruise around for boys came with success. Spent the rest of the day with them. Matt and Kim did not disappoint. Modest Mouse was a lot more mellow than I thought, plenty of makeout time. Ended the night with my best friend and left over Miggas where the day had begun, tired but happy drove to her place.

Woke up with what felt like a hangover, hurting everywhere, but needed to get my butt moving to get to watch BORNS. We arrived right as they were getting on stage, the humidity was awful so when the rain came … it was magical. Mind you the poncho never left my backpack, all day. Overall it was a pretty chill day with the BFF. Got some lunch at Sammy’s Wild Game Grill and then a drink at the Malibu hut. Little did I know that I was going to have a major fan girl moment there. I’m just waiting in line when I look to my left and there before me – Matt and Kim – ahhhhhhh I’m not going to lie, I was shaking and my heart was beating really fast. The plus on top of meeting them is getting the attention on my IG account. Leon Bridges, 3LAU, The Chainsmokers and a glimpse of Deadmau5 were the acts of the afternoon/evening.
The drunken teenagers, the rain and the shitty evacuation put a damper of the day. When is it ok to be 15 and completely wasted in public, grabbing clearly older girls and shoving people just because. This is what is wrong with our country, No respect for each other. We feel we can break our words and harass without any remorse. This brings up the horrible acts of the last couple of days. The murder of a young beautiful singer and a massacre at a club. Both were suppose to be fun occasions. When did it become a weekly thing to kill and destroy. Our generation needs to correct this by teaching our children to love. Love not hate, build not destroy, help up not push down. Such a simple complex that society has forgotten about.
This week was all about starting my diet and working. Went on an unexpected date with the boy from FPSF. It was good, Ninja Turtles was a good movie, but ate way too much food. Time will only tell if I get to see him again since I haven’t heard from him in a couple of days. Well time for Sunday night dinner and back to work I go. Till next time.
Well guys what can I say Happy Memorial Day! It been a really good couple days off with more to come. Friday I got the chance to see my best friend and go to IPIC in River Oaks. If you haven’t been there, you need to go, but the catch is you’ll never be able to see another movie in a ‘regular’ theater. Looks like an upscale restaurant in the upstairs lobby. Your reclining chair has a nice pillow and blanket to get cossy. We saw Neighbors 2, which makes the second Zac Efron movie i’ve seen there. The first was on a date a couple months ago, Dirty Grandpa, which props to the guy because he actually dropped a lot of money. Afterward we did a little shopping at Rice Village, Girls did yall know you get a 50% off birthday discount at Kendra Scott.
Afterward the plans were very unclear. I had even packed a bag since I had not heard from this guy that I had plans with. Mind you he was all like ‘i want to see you’. Well luckily I have amazing people in my life that like spending time with me, so I hung out with them all afternoon and evening. Lots of catch up conversations and laughter all while there was a monsoon outside. First we went over to Stones Throw for a light meal. So I had only been there one time before for my birthday, the night I met dreamboat. Yes, just now I declared that should be his nickname, too bad he lives on the other side of the planet now. Umm yea so ya’ll have to get the giant pretzel and any of their pizzas, oh my to die for.
Afterwards was time to dance just next door at Boondocks. My long time friends have been throwing this party for four years, Kinda Super Disco. To celebrate they brought in Doc Martin to play with them. Wow did I miss the dance floor, and the closer to the big speaker the better. The night was pretty good most of the night, lots of laughs, good conversation and almost all my favorite people. Everything came to a halt when the guy who had made pls with me showed up, mind you he never messaged me or called me all day. I guess his phone blew up and so did all the cell phone towers in the area. Never did he even try looking me for, so as I was leaving I made it a point to let him know that I had been there. All he had to say was ‘I just now saw you’ ‘Where are you going’. Really dude, the place is not that big, I’m not dumb and thanks for making feel/look like a fool.
Saturday was started on the right foot by going to yoga again over at Irish Cowboy. Like I said in my last post, go it’s for a good cause, it’s free and they will actually woop your ass. The rest of the day was spent with my minion. Just relaxing, a little adulting, napping and of course swiping in good ol’ Bumble. I think thats is the only reason why I survived Sunday Funday, well kinda. The day started really early, for some reason I really can’t sleep in on my days off. So I finished watching season 11 of Grey’s Anatomy. OMG WHY !! Like talk about the worst kill off ever, I was definitely ugly crying. Then one of my old girlfriends came over so we could go out. So brunch started at this place called MKT. Very cute place located inside the Phoenicia market in downtown. Live music, people dancing, delicious food and cocktails. We had the Melon coolers, queso and the chicken and waffles. Everything was so good, the one thing i would do different, I would get the pitcher of the cocktail.
Sunday Funday continued with Royal Oak, I got to again see and hand out with a lot of my guy friends. Some of them i’ve known them since high school. The good thing about being in a room full of guys that you know is, a guaranteed PG-rated fun. The bad thing, they all buy you alcohol. That definitely did not help when the douche from Friday night showed up. So as advice to guys out there, if you feel like standing up a girl, don’t go up to her when she’s clearly been drinking. Don’t try and talk to her like an idiot, she’s going to talk to you like your dumb and make you feel stupid. Unfortunately that’s what you deserve anyway. Why? you didn’t have a legit family emergency and you didn’t die. Anywho. I did get to meet some fun people who I hung out with the rest of the day, super cool, super nice and definitely clicked.
Went to a random house party. Then to the place I said I was going to go to Leon’s Lounge. My friends new party All the Things got Tara Brooks to come play. Other than for the stupid boy drama, it was freaking awesome! Did a lot dancing and jamming out. One really exciting thing did happen, met some guy, totally made out with him. He was super and and I’m retarded because i only know his name. Would like to see him just to have fun, that was just the vibe I got, which would be totally fine.So my apologies for the really log post it was for sure a crazy weekend, next week should be about the same with FPSF. I leave you with my favorite snap of the night. I was taken at Leon’s while two of my favorite people played.
