Front Row – only!

Well, I can’t say that the last couple of weeks not only have fun but yet a little stressful. There are all kinds of open leads for jobs, but nothing yet. It has kinda taken a toll on my skin and hair, my alopecia is freaking out not being able to see my dermatologist. I find myself praying on a daily basis. I am so blessed for what I do have. So the days are consumed with trolling job sites and taking care of my peanut. They beauty in all of this is, I have my social life back. Networking, Happy Hours, and a couple really cool event that I have been invited to.

So I joined an awesome club called Front Row. It is part of Houston Tidbits and let me tell you it has been worth it already. The first event was over at the beautiful new Saks in the Galleria. It was a Harper’s Bazaar and Este Lauder event. Oh did I mention bubbles, bites, and free makeup! Yes, my mom was very excited when I brought it all to her since I don’t necessarily wear that brand. The second was over at the Kendra Scott in Rice Village. What a gorgeous day for a nail party, well I wear power so I didn’t get mine done. Eddie V’s catering was there with some yummy goodies and the new Deep Eddy’s Peach was the drink of choice. Both were absolutely delish, need to go get a bottle of the peach now to add to my collection. Now I am off to SoulCycle Sunday for a ride, hope that I don’t die. Which I have a feeling that may just happen. Believe me, the membership has already paid for itself. Nevermind all the upcoming events and gifts that are still pending.

So have to talk about my tux man. So the back story is that we had matched on a dating app months ago. He always seemed to ask me to go hang out, when I was at work, go figure. Well, I have nicknamed this guy this because he walked into RoseGold in a tuxedo while I was there for my friends birthday recently. It is extremely hard not to notice someone like that in a room full of wardrobe fo pass. Of course with my good memory, I knew that I knew him, I just couldn’t remember his name. Well, me having the guts that I do, I went up to him, we ended up chatting for a bit. I am sure nothing may come of this other than being a good story.

So, for now, I need to do some “homework” and then work on my typing skills. That and getting some workouts done are the weekend plans. Being at home has earned my an extra six pounds on the scale, so instead of having 5 to loose now, I have 11. Oh, and did I mention I have my furry child here for the weekend, couldn’t be more excited. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Till next time!

Well, I would…

Well, I would call this post-March Madness, simply because that is what’s on TV, but I just realized what my previous post was called, haha. What can I say about the last five or so weeks? First, it has been a blur. Like why is time flying by the way it is. I feel like I don’t have enough hours in the day. I am sure I’m not the only one who feels that way. The to-do list never seems to get down to a manageable one-day completion. Think of how many things you move to the next day, so you can prioritize today’s things. In my organizational kick, I enlisted the help of a Bullet/dot Journal. They are definitely for the artsy type. You can customize what you want and what you want it to look like. Super fun and super nerdy of me but, now I keep it with my regular agenda. Just a great way to keep list and notes.

The Boys

Since the last post, yes I am still seeing this great British man. He definitely checks a lot of boxes for me. He has taken me to some really great restaurants over the last couple of weeks. Been super sweet, and likes coming over to my place. We even have a show, The OA, but I fear that it may become stale. Like what now, he has become really busy at work and we are not seeing each other as much as we were. It’s ok it can’t all be like a Jane Austen love novel. So I am kinda keeping my options open, kinda. Regardless I have high hopes for my Brit. We always have a good time when we are together, hopefully, I can keep it together.

Life So the conf

So the confwp-1454718036689.pngession is that this post has taken me weeks to write, mostly to my current upside down life. My current stay-cation time is running out, mainly because I am going to
start digging into my savings. Taking the leap of faith for my family, friends, and well-being was under fire today by someone I thought I could trust. Just because you step outside of the comfort zone that doesn’t make you reckless, destructive and immature. It just makes you human. It makes you grow. I
t weeds out those who clearly don’t need to be in your life. All I can hope for is that something turns up soon and something that also pays well and I actually like. For now, I’m just going to try and stay positive, I look around and see how blessed I really am. That’s all I can do for now.

January madness….

Today was a very upsetting day due to work. So I have to remind myself to be positive and think of the good things, memories and people in my life. This brings me to the madness of what was January. Between the boys, friends and birthday shenanigans, there was not a dull moment. The month started with a boy feeding me, what I know were complete lies. We shall call him lawyer S. He came to my place with dinner and bark about who I was seeing. Going as far as telling me he didn’t want me seeing anyone else. Two days later I asked him what was fact or fiction, he decides to tell me ‘ I don’t care’. He does, however, offer me after birthday sex. Thanks but no thanks, he drove me to the point of blocking him from my phone. Which I’m glad I did, because my best friend and I put two and two together, he had been DM’ing her on Instagram asking her out. He literally went thru my pictures to get to her account. What a creep. Again all things happen for a reason.

The birthday went off without a hitch, those who came thru are close to me and that is all the mattered. I got to drink and dance, which is all I really wanted. The round up was Pistoleros, Rose Gold, and the Flat that night, hey had to go to the Flat for that Pizza haha. The next weekend, even though I thought Houston was going to flood again, I went back out. Big bad, Warrens and the Secret Group was the playbook of the night. I even got picked up by someone that was top 3 in my roster, the was will be explained later and we will call him President A. The next day Lincoln and Down the Street, with a puppy!  were the afternoon distractions, to then call it for an early night. Only to do Brunch at Liberty Kitchen, hair at DryBar, and tacos at Pistoleros. A shout of the what has become one my favorite hotels in Houston, The Hotel Derek. This is where is spent my birthday weekend and the following one. I can only say good things.

A little snip on Pres. A, we met back in August. Went on a really great date in September. We didn’t speak for a while until my sassy ass sent him a message. He came to my side after someone close to me passed away. When he came to pick me up a couple of weeks ago, the atmosphere had definitely changed. When he was going home I felt like I was going to get a pat hug from him. I guess some people get the wrong assumptions from you and exit stage left. I don’t really know or can explain what happened with him. We wanted a lot of the same things, and the chemistry was hot and very present. Ultimately it comes down to priorities. Not replying to text messages, not making time, and making excuses just extinguishes all that chemistry. I leave you with this piece of relationship advice. Guys, be honest with yourself and with the girl you seek.

Well needless to say I have definitely crossed a lot of people of my ‘roster’ and added some too. I had a really great date to round out the month. A man from the other side of the pond. Can’t complain, he has been nothing but nice. He took me to Oporto for dinner and more food and drink at 13Celicus. Then a movie just a couple days later even though he wasn’t feeling well. So we will see where this ends up. Also, it is Super Bowl time in Houston, and even though I’ve been at work all week I was able to at least go to one event. Took spawn over the Super Bowl Opening Night, and it did not disappoint. So I leave you with some pictures from that night. Minute Maid was an amazing host and it did not cost me a small fortune to attend.. Until next time!
