I say it all the time, where does the time go. Just yesterday we were unearthing all the damage from the hurricane. Today, most of the city is chest deep in the trash that was once their homes, bills and bureaucratic red tape. So many have lost everything, how will they get there lives back together. I just don’t seem to understand that. If the government isn’t helping, the insurance companies are turning their back just because it was deemed “a flood,” what is going to become of our city. Are we just going to be transformed into a trash heap? It is evermore devastating that nothing is being done and friends are having to sue or get 2nd mortgages.
The flood water also had their toll with me metaphorically speaking. I met someone that once again I seemed to have lost my head with. This time it was almost literally. The conversation, the spark, the chemistry – it all appeared to align correctly. We had lots to talk about and lots in common. It was a cant stop, cant keep my hands to my self, rushing thoughts kind of week. I say a week because, after the couple encounters, it was strictly phone conversations. Yes, he was cute enough to call and have hour-long conversations with me. Granted this has happened to me before – maybe not to this extent and sure enough, it burnt me. It’s an explosion of everything around you, you can’t deny it or hold back. Unfortanly just like the chemistry principle of combustion, it didn’t last. From the last text message I received a week ago, work was going to take priority. Mind you I am not saying my needs come before your job, but come on. What is it with men and their inability to multitask. Besides at this point, I believe he’s just ghosting me, super awesome!
On the bright side, new men are on the horizon, and my social calendar for October is going to be buzzing. It all starts this weekend with Young the Giant followed by a hotel opening and a fashion show next week. Not too shabby for little old me I suppose. Until then I just hope my body goes back to normal, stupid allergies and woman problems yay. Hope everyone has a good week, until next time.
XOXO
Ana
