The Last Weekend Update…

So my apologies for the super late post. I have been either working or napping, true story. I must admit the last two weeks have been full of adventure and surprises good and bad, but here is the rundown.

Slept all day, but met up a friend at Happy Hour at Emerson Rose. Really cute store off 19th Street in the Heights. Right next to my beloved Torchys. I had missed this amazing find all of these years. Found some really cute stuff for the weekend. Plus they had my favorite drink – Deep Eddy’s Ruby Red on tap. Then I went for the henna, I had never gotten done, have to say I loved it. snapchat-7769264062827796638.jpgAfterwards we just hung out at her place, where I came to figured out – why must tv’s be so complicated to watch. What happened to just turn on and watch.  Oh and we ordered drunken pizza thru Uber Eats. Funny, it took forever to get there. Like she had to call the driver to find out what was going on and my he was driving away from her place. Met up with one of my Bumble boys, not much to say other than it was a good play time. Went home at a decent time to get ready for the weekend . Oh and what a weekend it would be.

June 4th

Woke up mighty early with one thing in mind, Brunch Brunch Brunch.snapchat-4178369602107586540.jpg I arrived at my friends early to help out while the light rain came in. A quick trip to the grocery store, some dishwasher work and a little egg work later, it was quite a hit. Can’t say that I had not had such a good times in a weird situation. My close friends only know the truth, I can’t throw a person completely ‘under the bus’. Lots of bubbly and vodka it was time to move the party down the street. The party continued on the Washington Wave then to NRG yellow lot for Free Press Summer Fest. Can’t say that I was happy with the move to the parking lot from Eleanor Tinsley Park, but I understood it was due to the high bayou and the ground being over saturated to the point stages could become unstable. Houston had so much rain. On the ‘must watch list’  X-Ambassadors, Matt and Kim and Modest Mouse. While waiting I decided food was a must, after my $7 pizza slice, I lost my debit card. Which it was fine for the day, little did I know that I would spend a whole week without access to my bank account.  I had more than my fair share of alcohol and food earlier in the day. Watched X-Ambassadors from the fancy pants tent, where it was the shelter for the little rain there was that day. Rain boots where a brilliant idea. A small cruise around for boys came with success. Spent the rest of the day with them. Matt and Kim did not disappoint. Modest Mouse was a lot more mellow than I thought, plenty of makeout time. Ended the night with my best friend and left over Miggas where the day had begun, tired but happy drove to her place.

June 5th

Woke up with what felt like a hangover, hurting everywhere, but needed to get my butt moving to get to watch BORNS. We arrived right as they were getting on stage, the humidity was awful so when the rain came … it was magical. Mind you the poncho never left my backpack, all day. Overall it was a pretty chill day with the BFF. Got some lunch at Sammy’s Wild Game Grill and then a drink at the Malibu hut. Little did I know that I was going to have a major fan girl moment there. I’m just waiting in line when I look to my left and there before me – Matt and Kim – ahhhhhhh I’m not going to lie, I was shaking and my heart was beating really fast. The plus on top of meeting them is getting the attention on my IG account.  Leon Bridges, 3LAU, The Chainsmokers and a glimpse of Deadmau5 were the acts of the afternoon/evening.

The drunken teenagers, the rain and the shitty evacuation put a damper of the day. When is it ok to be 15 and completely wasted in public, grabbing clearly older girls and shoving people just because. This is what is wrong with our country, No respect for each other. We feel we can break our words and harass without any remorse.  This brings up the horrible acts of the last couple of days. The murder of a young beautiful singer and a massacre at a club. Both were suppose to be fun occasions. When did it become a weekly thing to kill and destroy. Our generation needs to correct this by teaching our children to love. Love not hate, build not destroy, help up not push down. Such a simple complex that society has forgotten about.

This week was all about starting my diet and working. Went on an unexpected date with the boy from FPSF. It was good, Ninja Turtles was a good movie, but ate way too much food. Time will only tell if I get to see him again since I haven’t heard from him in a couple of days. Well time for Sunday night dinner and back to work I go. Till next time.

XOXO
